I found I have no interesting to learn it as I planed.

This is a question.

No spirit, no progress.

1.Irrigating for fighting dry wheather ended at last Friday. Most of my fellows which participating in the irrigating mission  came back from countryside. The dry and hot wheather is continuing. But we can feel a little cool in the morning. Maybe, the good thing is coming?

2.My k6-2 475 CPU was gone. And, with my mistake, it's mvp3 mainboard was also destroyed.

3.Listening 900 english sentences was going on. Now is listening part D.

4.Remove Ubuntu linux 6.0.6 from the p4 computer in company, and replace it with redhat linux9.0, the main reason for this is computer is old and I felt ubuntu isn't appropriate for me although it is a good new linux distribution. The best for others maybe isn't a best for me.

5.职称考试 register will begin at the end of Sept.

The dry wheather is still lasting;

Restart learning english by listening 900 Sentences English;

Focus on practice on linux but not the OS itself.

Learning english will persist.

Continue practice on linux, like coding under emacs.

A week past, I need thinking about it.

The dry weather is still dry, everyone involed the mission of fighting on dry weather. for me, I have gone to the channel with other comrades three times, it was at evening in two times.

The most time for me was being spent on solving linux config problem. I have solved the problem of seting a chinese enviroment in console mode under ubuntu 6.0.6 linux last week.

Learning just like reading novies(小说,错误!应该为:novel) for me, it's a fun thing? maybe.

But, I found I haven't learnt english sometime, I don't thing I should discard learning it. On the other side, I am going to face the English testing for 职称评定。

Maybe, listening 900 english sentenses is a way for me? I can't find any other way that I am interesting it. Or, translating some articles related to computer program technique?

I can't see the way of future, Progressing with my feel, learning some interesting things, looking for some works to do, it's the current status of mine.

Don't worry any thing about future,  a way is alway lie there, along it, go...

In fact, last week, our organization involed into the fighting on dry weather. Hot and dry wheather has lasted almost 2 mouths. Many plant is going to die. We have being watered to all these our channel area a week. Irrigation apartment was responsible for it.

I am in project apartment, so there was many time to try ubuntu installing.

After about 10 hours, downloaded and installed it. I encounter a problem that the screen resolution can't be set to 1024*768 under text mode. I searched the reason at internet, finded maybe it was a FRAME BUFFER problem. After that, I verified this when installing ZHCON through command "apt-get install zhcon", it said like this: zhcon need frame buffer support, you can't use it. So, I was sure it was a FRAME BUFFER support missing error.

I install 2.6.15 kernel source and some compiling tools and compiled it, it spend me almost 7 hours again, sigh, a poor AMD K6-2 450 machine.

The most mess thing was after doing that, the new kernel can't support frame buffer yet, and plus a new problem-missing devfs file system.

I have worned out, next week, I will try some other methods, if it can't work yet, maybe I will discard resolving this problem. Or, try to install another distribution version, like: Debian, Redhat, etc..

I found Redhat linux9.0 only occupy memory 28M under my text console with 2.4.20 kernel in my duron 700 machine (stop some useless services), but, a ubuntu occupy about 60M memory under my text console with the compiled 2.6.15 kernel in my amd 450 machine (also stop some useless services). If the Debian can't fit my require after I trying it next week, I can choose Redhat cdrom.

stop to do something: stop one thing in order to do something else. 停下来去做某件事

stop doing something: not to do that anymore. 不再做某件事

try to do something: to make an affort to do it 尽力去做某件事

try doing something: to experiment with a new or different approach to see if it works. 为达到一定的目的，试一试不同的方法，看能不能实现目的，(try doing something to see if reach the goal)

Welcome to Daily Tips on Learning English. Today’s tip is on the difference in meaning between “try to do something” and “try doing something”.

“try” plus an infinitive, that is, “to” plus a verb, such as “try to learn” “try to open” “try to read” means to make an effort to do it. “try” plus a gerund, that is, verb-ing, such as “try opening”, “try turning on”, “try giving” means to experiment with a new or different approach to see if it works.

Let’s look at some examples. “I’m trying to learn Taiwanese.” This means I’m making an effort to do it. I’m taking a Taiwanese class, doing my homework and speaking in Taiwanese whenever I can. Here’s another example. “I tried to open the window.” This sentence means I pulled the window up, but it did not go up, so I pushed the window up, but it still did not open. I made an effort to open the window, but I could not open it. On the other hand, “I tried opening the window” means that I did open the window and that I opened it for a reason. I was hot and I wanted to cool off. I tried opening the window, but that didn’t help. So I tried turning on the fan, but I was still hot. So I tried taking off some of my clothes, but that didn’t work either. Finally, I turned on the air conditioner, and that finally succeeded in helping me cool off. I experimented with many things to see what would work.

So remember, “try to do something” is to make an effort, and “try doing something” is to experiment with different way to achieve your purpose. This has been today’s daily tip on learning English. Tune in tomorrow for another tip.

tried to open the window means "当时我想要去打开窗户的一种想法。"

i'm tried openning the window means"我当时开窗户的一个过程。"

last year i tried to work in a company.

after two weeks i'm working in the company.

I tried to open the window.我尝试着去打开窗户。结果和目的是什么并未言明。

I tried opening the window……我试图打开窗户以达到什么目的，而结果就是窗户被打开了。

这两者区别在于一个带有目的性的去完成一件事（后者），另一个只是单纯的尝试着去做成一件事（前者）。

I tried to open the window,我就是想打开窗户，目的明确。I tried opening the window,我想达到另一个目的，而必需要去打开窗。开窗不是最终的目的。

I tried to open the door.

I tried opening the door,Because my bike is in it.

I tried to open the window, the sentence means I just want to open the window and make effort to do it.

I tried opening the window, the sentence means that opening the window for other reasons.

I tried to learn English.

I tried learning English for doing better in the work.

i think try to do means you know it is difficult and you probably fail,trying doing means you may succeed.
