Video Convert

Click the third task “Video Convert” in the main window, there are three options in the following “Audio/Video Convert - Select Converting Source” window, they are “Select the Single File”, “Select Whole Directory” and “Select Single File and Select Indicated Section”.

The first and the third options are used for converting a single file. But, the third option is for converting indicated part of a file.

In the third option, indicate the begin and end time is very flexible. Combining the prefixing “+” and “-”, it can be convenient indicate the any part needed to be converted. For example, if a video is 100 seconds length, indicate the begin time “10” and the end time “-10” or the begin time “-90” and the end time “+80” will both convert the part between the 10th and 90th seconds. Read the help text in the same window carefully when select the begin and end time of indicating the part of video needed convert.

Please note, when you select the third option for converting a part of a file, this part can also be splited into several parts according to the “Video Converting Configure” option “Split Video”.

In the second option is convert the video files in a same directory, it is convenient for converting video in bulk. Please note, it isn't select the files in its sub-directories recursively, it only convert the files under the select directory.

All others options are similar when convert the video file except the differences above. So only explain the other steps of “Select the Single File” below. And, it is also the default option when “Video Convert”.

After “Select Converting Source”, click “OK”, “Select Converting Configuration” window appears. There are four options here: “Default Configuration”, “Last Used Configuration”, “Customized Configuration” and “Generate New Configuration”.

“Default Configuration” is using the options of config file in the “tce/conf/v2vdefault.conf”, it is used for 176×144 resolution mp4 file and can be played by virtually any mobile phone.

“Last Used Configuration” is using the previous last converting configuration file. If no any previous converting configuration file exist, it uses the “Default Configuration”.

“Customized Configuration” is using your customized configuration file, e.g., the configuration file “myv2vtest.conf” illustrated in Video Converting Configure.

“Generate New Configuration” will duplicate the configuring steps in Video Converting Configure to generate a new configuration for the current converting.

After you select your configuration, you need confirm the options in the following Question Dialog, click “No” return to re-select your configuration, we click “Yes” confirm the options to continue.

“Audio/Video Convert - Select Destination Directory”, select which directory used to store the converting result video files.

Then, Mobilemate will convert the selected source files into selected destination directory using selected configuration. You can see the converting process in the urxvt terminal window. Don't close this terminal window until the “Convert OK!” Information dialog window appears, then click “OK” to close the info and terminal window and finish the converting task. Open file manager “PCManFM-ModFileManager” in the popup menu or task bar of the desktop, you will see the converting result video files in your selected directory, double click the video file to play it.
